It's been a while, hasn't it?

So I'm sitting in the classroom at Parkland college, waiting for class to start. Stats class to be exact. Yeah, summer vacation and I'm still taking classes at college. I'm just a dorkface aren't I? Well, gotta get some classes out of the way and I have to do something to keep myself occupied. :) Going without stimulation can be a little tedious and I'm bound to forget things if I don't keep going xD

I finally found out that there is something I'm allergic too, rather unfortunate that bit of news. Dealing with a couple big rashes all over my forearms and lower legs. Seems to be spreading despite my doctor's medications and such. I know its not food and I didn't go rampaging through a bunch of vines at the state park last week. We're thinking that it's the OFF bugspray that we used, because all the rashes are turning up exactly where I sprayed it. >< Bugger.

All I can say is YES! Transformers tomorrow night! and YES! Top Gear last night and James May on the Moon/Edge of space! I adore all of it.

The weather here is continuously gorgeous and at a beautiful temperature and it's such a pretty place....I can see why Alex was always talking about it when Baltimore had another one of it's rainy/cold days xDD

Botcon registration for the non-Wednesday class attendees is today. I got my registration done yesterday along with my Primus pack. Oh yes. And I built a Transformer, for serious! xD I'll be putting pics up on Facebook soon.

Saw Aliisa's art show yesterday and hung out with the chicks afterwards :) That was pretty relaxing and pretty darn fun. Mmmm hair ruffles.

Well, I'll be heading off this weekend to start my journey to Botcon with [info]ravynfyre, [info]slackeremeritus, and [info]air_n_darkness. If anyone on my friends list is going to be at Botcon, I look forward to saying hullo to you all. No costume for me :/ so it'll be a little difficult to be distinguishable. All I can say is look for a short Chinese chick with short almost boy-cut hair. ^^;

I'm almost done with packing up.

Seniors from the class of 09 at JHU graduated yesterday. Congrats seniors :) I'll miss you all.

Gah, I can't believe Revenge of the Fallen is coming out in a few weeks. I have to finished 'Half-Life' before this happens. Need to get this fic done so I can have a finished multi-part fic (which hasn't been done since my Charlie and the Chocolate Factory/Petshop of Horrors crossover xD).

This is going to be crazy awesome.

Attempting to find research is a little harder than anticipated...especially if the only experience with it I have is in Crop Science as high school manual laborer xDDD Oh dear. Hopefully there will be something though.

Back at the hospital though! PACU and Oncology this time!

Star Trek Quiz? :) )

Almost there.

Next week is what?

So I just realized that next weekend is the weekend of doom. But doom in a good way I suppose?

The semester is coming to an end, but it's anything but winding down. Hell week has begun (our epic 2 week hell week). I got the first draft of my research paper back. I just got invited to become Stressbusters Coordinator in Training next year and am thinking about that. There's still APTT practices going on and a chem exam next week as well.

Hanging in there fine, I'm still feeling pretty chipper if nervous about things. I'm afraid I'll be online even less than I am now, only to check my emails, until the semester's over. Lucky me, I only have one final over final's week so reading period shouldn't be too stressful at all. I can get back on during that time.

Also, I just found out that my friend's, Kenya's mom was fired from the hospital that she worked at. Her mom worked as an RN at the Mercy Medical Center of Nampa, Idaho and was fired after requesting a leave of absence in order to care for my friend's grandmother who was having complications after a surgery. Ravyn puts it in better words then I would right now--I'm still shocked that this happened: http://ravynfyre.livejournal.com/455860.html Kenya's mom worked hard for this job and she works hard for her family. Spread the word, and if you wish, respond to the situation by sending a letter to the editor and the hospital. My prayers are with her and her family.

Birthdays and Tour!

First off: Happy Birthday my Michelle-love! ^^ [info]water_angel22 Hope you have a happy 18th and have a wonderful year.

Second off: Spring Tour is over! *sinks into bed and curls up* Well, I'm still not in my room yet--the Freshmen Dorms don't open until tomorrow at noon (Sunday noon), so I'm still staying at Rose and Marina's place. Chris K. (fellow Mental Note) is over as well for the same reasons.

Spring Tour was awesome. Pictures are mostly up on Facebook. Busy busy Boston, lots of food, singing and general attempts at moral boosting. Most worked actually.

Everyone was extremely nice through the whole thing, there were some bumps along the way but it was good.

I'm not quite sure of how to say things yet because so much went down and I'd have to put it all in order xDD It was lots of fun though, I promise that.

Surfing NY-Times for recipes instead of reading about the history of shock therapy? Ah well, this is still useful.

Pasta With Cherry Tomatoes and Arugula

Roasted Tomato Soup

Panko-Crusted Chicken Tenders

Oven-Steamed Salmon With Pan-Cooked Mushrooms

Potato and Leek Gratin With Cumin

Provençal Potato “Bouillabaisse"

Lettuce and Potato Soup

Mmmm I can't wait for a kitchen next year!

Acappellathons, papers, and stuff!

Well, I guess I should write about the a cappellathon the Mental Notes attended on Saturday :) *That* was pretty full of amazing.

Our group was the second full set to go and we were singing my song, Super Trouper, first. Well, I start singing the song and once we get to the chorus there's the ending line "Somewhere in the crowd there's you" and I do a generic point through the crowd---someone towards the right and back in the seats raises their hand and waves at me. So for the rest of the choruses, whenever I hit that line I pointed straight to him, complete with dreamy gesture at the end.

Funnily enough, this guy was part of the troupe after us so they left after my song to go backstage. After the Mental Notes finished, we went backstage and the guy was like "Hey, that's my Super Trouper!" as we passed. I thought it was adorable. But it got better. As we filed back into the auditorium to get to some seats, we had to sit in the back for a bit way off to the side. The other group had already come on and that guy was their first soloist. It was pretty fun to listen to him and then, when he was getting to the chorus ("Lean on Me" by the Temptations) he looks around, spots me and points/winks. That has me doubled over and the audience chortling. But at his second to last break to the chorus, he looks at me and starts walking over and proceeds to climb up the chairs towards the top of the auditorium where I was, still singing.

Oh what craziness a cappella can bring. I gave him a "Mr. Lean on Me! *<3*" at the end of the concert. xDDD Don't even know who he is. *le dramatic sigh* :) I should point out into the crowd more often if that's going to happen.

On a less fun note. Lots of write-ups, readings, papers, and problems to do. Two midterms to study for next week. Everyone is busy. :/ Ah well. We're keeping tight in here. I'm really really liking APTT right now.

So at the school, apparently there's some sort of forum called JHUConfessions.

Someone posted on it regarding me: http://www.collegeacb.com/sb.php?school=jhu&page=thread&id=40268

Just spotted it today when Trevor was browsing through it. Post 10 was made by Trevor.

I have some warm fuzzies for some of these people right now.

The BBC allegedly believes most people will have only read 6 of the 100 books here:

How do your reading habits stack up? [bold those books you've read in their entirety, italicize the ones you started but didn't finish]

Book Meme Ahoy! )

Also, went to the ICCA Quarterfinals last night--the Octopodes were hosting the event. So many awesome a cappella grouuups. The winners performed a Journey song as their encore. Eeeee!

Then there was Mental Notes Girls' Night. ^^ That was fun too.

Today we go and buy a Hawaiian for our new member: Chris.

I had a dream last night that I was fighting against Separatists---or rather, Sith.

The way to defeat them was throwing large hunks of partially melted white chocolate at them.

It burned them on touch?

A Happy New Years to you all!

I hope your new year shall be memorable, happy, fun, great, and many many more awesome things :)

This year has been pretty great. There's been the end of senior year, graduating, summer work (which provided me with lots of stories, so it's a good thing right?), and then the beginning of freshman year of college. That brought lots of new friends and new activities ^^ Mental Notes!

Oh yes, our rendition of Transformers? http://www.box.net/shared/r7vu9dvng6 Just take a listen here ^^ Tom would be the soloist and this is from the Spring 08 concert--Live so the quality is not great and you can't see the choreography that goes with this song. We might be doing an extended version as Tom's senior solo. Actually...here's a link to the songs that I have up so far! http://www.box.net/shared/ttvhebc17y

Sitting with my family and we're taking a break from movies (watched Planet Earth xDD)

Shipping my computer back to Apple tomorrow and going back to school Monday morning. Gotta make the most of this weekend now, eh? ^^

Happy new Year all!

TF Mosaic coloring almost halfway through. *beams* I just have to get through the killer, detail-ridden, third panel and then I'll be home free :) I do hope the artist likes it.

My feet, they be chilling off.

I hope everyone has a happy Christmas or just a happy Holidays in general! Drive safely and eat/drink safely!

Spent the night spontaneously at Angie's house ^^ Ricky's still as adorable as usual and soft and fuzzy and cute. Snuggles with Angie = love.

So chocolate+sticky rice cake = no go. Didn't turn out too well. Maybe I'll try swirling it in next time instead of drizzling it on top.

I love this ramen that I found at Amko. It's delicious. :D Tis fishy in flavor too.

I'm actually starting to miss school ><. Okay maybe not school exactly, but I miss hanging around with people all the time. But it's almost Christmas so we should be seeing more people son!

Called Chris today. Apparently he found a recipe book on how to make things in the microwave that we have to try out when school gets in session again. xD

Darn icy roads. No party at Chris. N's today.

Purpose?

Well, I suppose this is my repository of not-so-daily thoughts as well as any fanworks. Most everything is sorted by tags, so go ahead ^^
